Attention all female members:
We have a special announcement for our “Girls Only” events. We are honored to have Jane Frost give a one-hour clinic for all girls from 11am-12pm at Sandwich Hollows on April 23rd before the tournament. To sign up for this free clinic, girls need to sign up on their BlueGolf account under the Seminars tab.
Jane Frost is well known in New England and throughout the country as an outstanding coach and mentor. Her accolades include:
This is a tremendous opportunity for all girls to get instruction from one of the top teachers in the country and then take that instruction out on the course for a 9-hole warmup before the season starts!
Your membership with the CCJGA automatically gives you a FREE membership into the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program. However, you must return a waiver form (click here for form) to Mike Serijan so you can be signed up. Please email form to email@example.com or mail to 5 John Joseph Rd. Harwich, MA 02645. Upon signing up, each girl will be mailed a $40 gift package from the LPGA. We need every girl signed up as our grant relies on us meeting our numbers.
The 2015 Girls Only Golf Season will consist of 10 “events” with a maximum of 20 girls per event and these are separate from the CCJGA season. The “events” will be outlined, organized and run by the individual host courses and their staff. You will register for the events by logging into your CCJGA BlueGolf account, clicking the Seminars Tab, and then choosing the event(s) you want to sign up for. (Registration opens May 1st).
The CCJGA Committee will be in charge of setting the field (due to the maximum of 20 girls per event), collecting payments and getting the host course a list of participants. Questions about anything prior to the day of the event can be sent to Mike Serijan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
These events will have a focus on fun and camaraderie, so the formats will be fun rather than competitive (no trophies). We would like a mix of older and younger girls with the older girls serving as mentors for the younger players.
WHY ARE “GIRL-FRIENDLY” GOLF PROGRAMS SO IMPORTANT?
The game of golf offers girls a myriad of benefits and life skills that are inherent to the game, and is a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. This is why it is our mission to provide girls with the opportunity to fall in love with the game by offering the most “girl-friendly” environment as possible. Research consistently shows that girls reap the biggest rewards when learning in all-girl environments – allowing them to feel more comfortable learning the game in a setting where they are free to be themselves. Strong female mentors and peer role models inspire girls to develop higher expectations for themselves.
